Hi, I am so excited that you are choosing Johnstone Studios for your photography experience. We established Johnstone Studios in 2005 and are passionate about capturing emotional portraits. When working with children and families, I like to engage my group, play with the children, and create an experience that is memorable and fun.
I am a mother to 3 beautiful daughters. It is one of my greatest joys in life to be with my children. I have lived through many sleepless nights, many temper tantrums, many “firsts”, and still love them dearly. I also think that these mom skills have made me a better emotional photographer. I understand the developmental stages of children, I can relate when a child is comfortable, nervous, cautious with strangers or in front of the camera, and can react to and guide them through a session in a positive way.
I love creating portraits. In a world that is well documented through personal images, I want to create a special lasting memory of one moment in time. This memory, to be displayed in your home, on your walls, will be the one that brings a smile to your face, and represents you; your family, your children, your pets, your special moment.

Born and raised in Northern California I spent my winters and summers snowboarding and hiking at Lake Tahoe. I attended college at the University of Nevada, Reno which allowed me to maintain my outdoor lifestyle while earning a Fine Art Degree with an emphasis in graphic arts and design. My obsession for technology, art and design paved the way for a career as a graphic artist.
I love to spend time with my family, be outside and interact with others; which led us to open our Reno photography studio. Thus, Johnstone Studios was born out of a passion to provide an innovative and fresh approach to the world of wedding and portrait photography.
I have 3 beautiful daughters and when I’m not creating portraits from behind a camera or computer, you can find me coaching soccer, appreciating drawings of rainbows and squiggles, and enjoying life in the mountains. I am passionate about creating lasting memories for others through artistic and emotional photography.
About Our Team
we love photography
Three things make my world go ‘round: people, art and connections. Born and raised in Gardnerville, I have a strong love for Northern Nevada. The outdoor opportunities and beauty combined with the amazing community of people means that home truly does mean Nevada. I can often be found traveling, reading, enjoying a wide variety of music and geeking out over delicious food. My family is full of artists and I followed in those footsteps by getting my Bachelors degree in Photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. I love getting to use my expertise here at Johnstone Studios to guide people through the process of designing art through portraiture.
I design things graphically. Art is one of my greatest passions, right up there with family, music, food and being adventurous. When I am not creating, living in the suburbs of Tahoe offers the perfect avenue for exploration. You will probably find me hiking with my honey and our fur baby; it’s what we love most! I received my BA with an emphasis in graphic design from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. After playing around in the IT world I decided to find a more artistic job. Working at Johnstone Studios allows me to be in an environment where I can thrive as an artist and find satisfaction in the quality of work we deliver.
My furry face may greet you as you enter our studio! I love saying hi to the children and people that visit the studio everyday. I also enjoy evening walks and late afternoon naps.
