These are truly unique, one of a kind card designs. Each year the family selects a specific theme. We have a planning meeting to discuss the theme and go over ideas to create a direction for each card and plan how it will be executed. We have traveled abroad in some years as well as photographed in the studio for others. Often times we use professional body artists to help with makeup for costuming each family member.

2021

Survivor

Photographed on location in St. John USVI. The TV show “Survivor” was the theme. We did not have the whole family together at the same time so the group images were composites created with single photos of each individual. The daughter was actually photographed in Lake Tahoe, CA. This is a soundcard which plays the theme song from “Survivor” when it is opened.

2020

Netflix

Photographed on green screen in my studio. Each individual has a separate page showcasing their accomplishments for the year related to a tv show or movie commonly found on Netflix. The final piece was a multi page brochure like card which looked like the user interface of the Netflix app.

2019

Top Secret

Created to look like a top secret file folder. Overall dimensions are 5×7 with a smaller booklet inset. A decoder was provided for users (like 3d glasses) to read a secret message on the last page. The message contained a link to view an online video of family adventures throughout the year.

2018

Jurassic Park

Each individual was photographed on a green screen in my studio. The image of the jeep was photographed on location and then manipulated to look like it was in front of the Jurassic Park doors. A professional makeup artist was brought in to make each of the individuals look like their characters and to give the appearance of scratches and bruises.

2017

Pirates of the Caribbean

Photographed in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico using the natural environment to mimic the look and feel of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.

Toy Story

Photography was done in my studio on green screen. Theme was the “Toy Story” movies from Pixar. A professional body artist was brought in to give the character look for each individual.

2015

Avengers

The theme was the “Avengers” movie series. A professional body artist was brought in to provide makeup to make the individuals look like each of their characters. Everything was photographed against a green screen in my studio.

Lego

This card was designed to look like a set of Lego instructions. The Lego heads were custom created to match an expression for each individual. They were life-size Lego heads and not digitally manipulated. All photographs were photographed in a green screen in my studio.
